News & Updates

If you have cold or flu-like symptoms -please wear a mask when in the practice, to protect other vulnerable people.  You can also choose to book a phone consult if appropriate.

You may be eligible for antivirals based on your age , ethnicity, if immuno-compromised, or if you have significant health needs.  You can check here: https://pharmac.govt.nz/news-and-resources/covid19/access-criteria-for-covid-19-medicines/covid-antivirals/

If it’s a weekday, you can call our nurses to advise you have covid and would like to discuss antivirals.

On a weekend- Either: 1) Register your positive RAT result asap online at this link. This will automatically alert your GP or 2) If you test positive during the weekend, or during any public holiday, your pharmacy can also help you get antivirals faster than we might be able to. Rolleston Unichem Central Pharmacy (by Coffee Culture) on 03 3472498 offers this service, as do some other pharmacies in town.

Then- Your GP will assess if you are eligible for antiviral medication and get this underway as soon as possible.

Not feeling better after isolation or think you may have Long Covid? Check out this NHS website for great advice and guidance around when to seek additional help.
