At Rolleston Medical Centre we have a dedicated team of GPs to attend to your regular health needs.

Health Improvement Practitioner & Health Coach
Improve your wellbeing. Appointments with either person are FREE for Rolleston Medical patients and you can either book yourself by calling the medical centre, or your doctor/nurse may suggest you see them. Cathy, our Health Improvement Practitioner (HIP) works Mon – Wed and Liza, our Health Coach (HC) works Tues-Thurs.
There is also a walking group on Wednesdays from 10am-11am (chat to our reception if you are interested).
What is a Health Improvement Practitioner (HIP)?
Our HIP has the knowledge and skills to help you with:
- managing thoughts, feelings and behaviours
- stress, anxiety, depression or feeling down
- coping with loss
- sleep problems
- drug and alcohol problems
- family or relationship issues, domestic violence, parenting
- chronic pain
- living with the side-effects of illness and health conditions,
- navigating gender identity, sexual orientation
What is a Health Coach (HC)?
The HC can help you reach your health goals.
We can:
- work with you to improve your eating habits and get more active
- help you understand your medicines and show you how to take them safely
We can teach you how to live well with:
- Diabetes
- High cholesterol
- Asthma
- High blood pressure
- Gout
- Low blood pressure
We can also help with:
- improving your sleep
- positive parenting
- tips for managing stress and emotions
- getting help from others who can help you with housing, food, social connection or quitting smoking

Diabetes Clinic
We have a free nurse clinic, for enrolled patients, to provide support to diabetics including starting insulin and managing diabetes.
Call the medical centre to indicate your interest and your details will be given to the diabetes nurse to return your call.
Nutrition Counselling
Tania Vincent from Thrive Nutrition offers nutrition counselling services to help clients achieve their health potential through improving their diet. She holds a weekly clinic on Wednesday afternoons and other days by arrangement.
